Past Events

On March 12th, 2023 we held our annual IPA Smackdown at Troubled Waters Brewery in Safety Harbor . 13 brewers from various guild took home wort and created an IPA of their choosing. The winning beer was selected and will be brewed at a later date by the brewery. It was a great time!

After a two year hiatus courtesy of Covid-19, the Almost There fest returned to St. Petersburg as part of the up-coming Tampa Bay Beer Week. Brew groups from all around Tampa Bay participated and over 500 people enjoyed home brew together.

On June 11, 2017, Crooked Thumb Brewery hosted the Suncoast Barley Mashers for a brew day!  It was an excellent day to make some beer!  Not only were they kind enough to let us use their facilities, but they even prepared the hot liquor tank for us, making the brew day go faster. Thanks guys! 

On June 24, 2017, we emptied our second barrel project, a flanders-style ale, and filled it with the third project, a golden ale! In time, the bugs inside our barrel will provide us with a delicious, light sour ale! 

We had a wonderful time on June 25, 2017, at VetterBrew Home Brew Supply!  Because we couldn't serve our beers at this years' Cajun Cafe Sour Fest, we decided to host our own mini-fest!  We had brewers from PUBGuild, Special Hoperations and Suncoast Barley Mashers serving their sours! Thanks to everyone that came out!

An amazing time was had at the Barley Masher Christmas Party!  Cueni Brewing, in Dunedin, was kind enough to host us and all of our shenanigans.  After we wrapped up a Cueni, a few Mashers continued on at 7venth Sun!  No matter where we are, getting together is always a great time!

We love a little intra-guild competition!  This time, we went head-to-head with our best saisons!  In third place was Bob LaPiana, Vinnie Giordano in second place, and Mike Lee took the gold!  We had 8 beers in the competition making January 14, 2018 a good time!
