On March 26th, we had an intra-guild smackdown. Three participants went head-to-head with their pre-prohibition style lagers. In third place was Billy Hughes, Roger Vaughn in second, and Vinnie Giordano took first. Thank you to Pinellas Ale Works for hosting us! It was a great time!
On April 29th, 2017, we brewed for our third barrel project! This time, we made a blonde ale that will sour over time as it sits in a barrel with brettanomyces, lactobacillus, pediococcus, and saccharomyces!
On June 11, Crooked Thumb Brewery hosted the Suncoast Barley Mashers for a brew day! It was an excellent day to make some beer! Not only were they kind enough to let us use their facilities, but they even prepared the hot liquor tank for us, making the brew day go faster. Thanks guys!
On June 24, we emptied our second barrel project, a flanders-style ale, and filled it with the third project, a golden ale! In time, the bugs inside our barrel will provide us with a delicious, light sour ale!
We had a wonderful time on June 25, at VetterBrew Home Brew Supply! Because we couldn't serve our beers at this years' Cajun Cafe Sour Fest, we decided to host our own mini-fest! We had brewers from PUBGuild, Special Hoperations and Suncoast Barley Mashers serving their sours! Thanks to everyone that came out!
